The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club, has been held annually since 2018 and has quickly become one of the most important events in the falconry world. Bahraini falconer Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Hajiri highlighted the festival’s special significance for his family, sharing how he and his siblings have participated since its inception, bringing 45 falcons to this year’s event.
Al-Hajiri competed in both the Shaheen Farkh and Shaheen Qirnas categories, winning top positions in the Shaheen Farkh category and maintaining his family’s winning streak since the second edition of the festival.
Held from November 28 to December 14, 2024, the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival is the largest gathering of falconers globally, attracting participants from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council. The festival features two major competitions: The Milwah Race and The Mazayen Beauty Contest, with competitors vying for prestigious awards such as the King Abdulaziz Cups and the King’s Sword.
The festival, which has been recognized by the Guinness World Records three times, is expected to draw 150,000 attendees and generate $20.7 million in revenue. Spending categories include $8.3 million for accommodation, $11 million for restaurants, and $1.4 million for transportation. This grand event aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
