The Saudi National Museum is Located in Riyadh’s Al Murabba neighborhood near King Abdulaziz’s palace. This museum offers a journey through history and art right in the heart of the city.
Opened in 1999 (1419H), the museum spans 17,000 square meters and houses 3,700 artifacts, including statues, scripts, and unique sculptures. The museum’s eight galleries are packed with history, starting with the Man and the Universe Gallery. Here, you can learn about the origin of the universe, the solar system, and the natural factors that have shaped it for millions of years.
In the Ancient Arab Kingdoms Gallery, you’ll immerse yourself in civilizations that existed from the 4th millennium BC to the 2nd century AD. The Pre-Islamic Era Gallery showcases the religious and social patterns of life before Islam. The Prophet’s Mission Gallery details the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), from the revelation to his migration to Madinah.
The Kingdom Unification Gallery features a documentary about the unification of Saudi Arabia, while the Hajj and Two Holy Mosques Gallery exhibits the development of Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid Al Nabawi.
The museum is open to all ages, and you don’t need tickets to enter. It operates on Saturdays, Mondays, and Tuesdays to Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Thursdays to Fridays from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
