The head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, Advisor Turki Alalshikh, revealed support to produce 3 to 5 new films, which are scheduled to be shown during the coming period in Saudi Arabia, in addition to his production of 3 completely Saudi films.
Several upcoming Egyptian films will be produced with backing from Saudi cultural institutions, including the Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority. Turki Alalshikh, the Authority’s chairperson, announced that films such as ‘Al Sett,’ ‘The Search for a Scandal,’ and ‘Shams El Zanati’ will be fully funded by the Big Time Production House.
Other notable films include ‘Psycho Psycho,’ ‘Ahmed and Ahmed,’ ‘Derby El Mawt,’ and ‘El Daraawesh.’ Additionally, the Entertainment Authority and Riyadh Season will support the third and fourth installments of ‘The Blue Elephant’ series, with Marwan Hamed overseeing production and Hisham Nazih handling the music.
Films like ‘El Nunu,’ ‘El Shaib,’ ‘Romel,’ and ‘El Sterling’ are also on the list, with a special focus on four films starring Ahmed Helmy, including ‘El Nunu’ with a budget of USD 60 million. Furthermore, a theatrical production starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Helmy is planned for Riyadh Season.
