The Bloom Sky Collection, launched globally on September 1, 2024, marks a significant milestone for Adidas, as it is the brand’s first-ever collection dedicated to Saudi Arabia, available both internationally and regionally. This collaboration underscores Adidas’ commitment to spotlighting Arab talent, with Al-Ahmad leading the creative direction. Known for capturing the vibrant landscapes of Saudi Arabia through her art, the Jeddah-born artist infused the collection with inspiration from the Kingdom’s colorful desert blooms and poetic traditions.

The collection features a wide range of unisex items, including trousers, shorts, sweaters, jackets, hoodies, and t-shirts, designed with a modern yet functional aesthetic. Notably, the collection also includes modest wear options for women, such as an abaya and hijab, ensuring coverage without sacrificing performance or style. Al-Ahmad’s vision reflects a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, capturing the essence of Saudi landscapes while catering to a global audience.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Al-Ahmad expressed the importance of embracing cultural authenticity. “As humans, our diverse experiences and rich cultural heritage shape our essence. Embracing our authenticity is the key to unlocking our empowerment. Adidas is paving the way for talented Saudis to claim their spotlight on the global stage,” she said.

This project follows Adidas’ ongoing efforts to highlight regional talent and promote inclusivity. The brand has previously launched campaigns in Saudi Arabia, such as the UltraBoost19 campaign for International Women’s Day in 2019 and the Adidas Originals “1000 Back” campaign in Riyadh. However, the Bloom Sky Collection is a first in that it dedicates an entire collection to Saudi Arabia, amplifying the nation’s culture and artistry on a global scale.

Al-Ahmad, no stranger to international collaborations, has worked with brands like Jean-Paul Gaultier, where she designed playing cards celebrating Saudi culture. Through her artistic practice, which spans collage, installation, and digital media, Al-Ahmad explores themes of identity, heritage, and personal empowerment, all of which are evident in her work for Adidas.

The Bloom Sky Collection stands as a testament to Adidas’ dedication to blending performance with cultural representation. As the collection hits stores and online platforms, it offers consumers a chance to connect with a piece of Saudi Arabia’s vibrant cultural landscape, all while embracing the comfort and functionality that Adidas is known for.

This collaboration is not just about fashion—it is a celebration of Saudi culture and the creative potential of its artists on the world stage. With the Bloom Sky Collection, Adidas and Raghad Al-Ahmad have brought the beauty of Saudi Arabia to a global audience, offering a fresh perspective on modest wear and sportswear alike.
